Tsai Highlights Her Achievement as President|蔡總統執政3週年 細數加薪減稅政績
Marking her third year in office, president Tsai Ing-wen held a press conference to share her journey and highlight her achievements during her three years. She also commented on the China-US trade war, saying it will make MIT, or "Made in Taiwan" a popular term again. She said she will lead the effort in upgrading Taiwan's industry, and hopes that she gets to hold a Taiwan Exposition during her next term in order to showcase Taiwan's soft power. Her intent to run for re-election goes without saying.
During a press conference that marks Tsai Ing-wen's three years serving as the president, she talked about her experience working in office. She also stresses that she's confident that she will reap the reward in her fourth year. She also highlighted her achievements by listing 10 ten policies that led to higher income, reduced tax and more investment.

Other than the backlash she faced when pushing for reforms, Tsai also faces pressure from China, especially after Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed a "one country two systems" plan for Taiwan. Tsai reiterated her stance on cross-strait relations, which is safeguarding Taiwan's freedom and democracy.
(Mainland China) is very vocal in expressing its "one country two systems" plan. However, we need to loudly and confidently say that we have only one country, and that is the Republic of China.
The latest survey has shown that the legalization of same-sex marriage has garnered more support among younger voters, and boosted Tsai's support rating. However, the passing of the same-sex marriage bill has also aggravated clashes between different groups in the society. Asked about whether the latest development will affect her chance for reelection, Tsai said the most difficult hurdle had been overcame.
We will continue to hold discussion on the matter. But we have already overcome the hurdle. More discussions will ensue, but I believe we've gotten over the greatest hurdle.
