Terry Gou Could Join Hands with Ko in 2024: Ko's Camp|蔡壁如透露柯將布局2024 屆時郭會幫忙
Ko Wen-je is very likely to run for President in 2024, with the help of billionaire Terry Guo, says Ko's close associate Tsai Pi-ru. She admits the two could meet next month to discuss potential collaborations for a campaign. On the other hand, Guo's spokesperson said it's too early to talk about 2024 and the talk could happen after this upcoming election.
Tsai Pi-ru, Taipei City Government adviser, meets with media personality Clara Chou to talk about plans of the Taiwan People's Party, led by Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je. Tsai revealed that after Ko serves his second term as Taipei mayor, he will run for president in 2024 and could be joining hands with former Foxconn CEO and KMT member Terry Gou.
(Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je) will serve out his second term as mayor and make plan to run for president in 2024. (Terry Gou once said the two will meet again.) Gou will help Ko's campaign in 2024.
Tsai has revealed that Ko might be running for president in 2024. However, Gou has only said that he wasn't running for president in 2020 and has announced no plan regarding the presidential election in 2024. Gou's spokesperson Evelyn Tsai said it's too early to make predictions at this point.
It's hard to predict the future. No one knows what's going to happen. We should wait until the 2020 presidential election ends to talk about (future plans). (So is Terry Gou planning his next move for 2024?) Put it this way, I believe many things happen according to Murphy's Law, so there's no need to make definitive statements.
Tsai has attended the nomination process for legislators for the Taiwan Renewal Party, during which she said Gou's campaign could work with members of the party. Her attendance has drawn speculation on Gou's possible distancing himself from Ko Wen-je's Taiwan People's Party. On the other hand, three female members of Gou's camp, including spokesperson Evelyn Tsai and Tiffany Kuo, have announced that will not run for district legislators. Taipei City consultant Tsai Pi-ru said them pulling out is a minor setback, and that she will try to arrange a meeting between Ko Wen-je and Terry Gou.
He (Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je) will attend an appreciation party on November 9. He didn't attend the two previous events, so he believes he should go this time out of courtesy. The two (Ko and Terry Gou) will certainly meet at the venue.
Some wonders if Terry Gou's campaign strategist Ann Kao will run for legislator at large. Tsai Pi-ru responded by saying she will try to put her name on the list of candidates. However, Tsai said, all candidates must be associated with a political party, which is a challenge that people in Guo's camp must think through.
