On Jan. 3, the Ministry of National Defense sent a large number of personnel to the site where a Black Hawk helicopter crashed one day earlier to comb the wreckage for the flight recorder, or black box. At 6 a.m. on Jan. 3rd, Ministry of National Defense Inspector General Huang Kuo-ming and members of the special forces walked to the location where a military Black Hawk helicopter had crashed a day earlier to search for the helicopter's flight recorder. Prosecutors were also present at the scene and didn't offer comment, only saying that a spokesperson from the Taipei District Prosecutors' Office will respond to all queries. The black box was located later. According to the military, the last report from the helicopter said visibility complied with standards, so whether the reason for the crash was mechanical, human, or related to the environment, will be determined after the black box is analyzed.
